Track Team 4x400m Relay Advances to CIF-SS Divisional Finals

Congratulations to our young quartet of Dylan Robinson (10), Lennard Marshall (10), Wolley Saga-Tuala (10) and Everett Steward (9) for qualifying to compete at the CIF-SS Divisional Finals in the 4x400m Relay. The posted their 2nd fastest time of the season. The Divisional finals will be held at Cerritos College on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The running events start at 1:00pm. Go Phantoms!

Freshman Everett Steward wins 400m at MT SAC Relays

Congratulations to our freshman Everett Steward for winning the 400m (49.05) at the 59th edition of the Mt. SAC Relays. Everett showed control and power around the oval, to also break Cathedral’s fosh/Soph record; held previous by Randall Carroll. He also anchored the underclassmen team of Lennard Marshall, Dylan Robinson and Anthony Johnson, to a victory in the 1600m SMR. In the final race of the day for the sprinters; they broke the fosh/soph record in the 4x400m relay (3:22.85) and performed their best time of the season. The distance quartet of Jacob Skarr, Anthony Perez, Tariq Granilla and Alberto Lopez placed 4th in the 4x1600m relay (18:13.29).

Cathedral’s New Balance Nationals Indoor All-Americans

Cathedral freshmen go to the New Balance National Indoor and come away as All-Americans! Competing against other nationally ranked freshmen, Everett Steward gave a glimpse of what's in store for the outdoor season as he blazed his 400m heat in a time of 50.30! He is #2 ranked in the 400m for the class of 2020. Anthony Johnson showed the nation he is to be taken seriously in the short sprints. He finished 2nd in his prelim heat of the freshman 60m dash. In the final race, Anthony finished fifth with a time of 7.20 against a very competitive field of athletes!
Everett and Anthony showed that Cathedral will be a contender on the national scene in the years to come.

Underclass lineup makes podium at the 39th Simplot Games.

Congratulations to the teams of Wolley Tuala, Lennard Marshall, Everett Steward, Anthony Johnson and Halid djibril who placed 4th in the 4x200m relay finals (61 teams) and 6th in the 4x400m relay finals (51 teams) @ the 39th International Simplot Games at the University of Idaho, Holt arena. High school teams from all over the United States and from Australia and Canada competes at this prestigious event. www.simplotgames.com

Phantoms Shines Bright at CA Winter State Championships

Congratulations to Freshman Everett Steward for winning the fastest heat in the 600m (1:23.36) at the 2017 California State Winter Championships @ Arcadia High School. The team of Wolley Tuala-Saga (10th) Anthony Johnson (9th) Blake Shepherd (10th) and Everett Steward (9th) competed hard to defend the title for the 3rd year of the Phantoms winning this relay, by winning the silver medal in a time of 1:35.17. The Phantoms holds the state record in the 800m SMR (1:31.63).

Congratulations to our Freshman Everett Steward for being Southern California Association USA Track & Field most decorated Athlete at the 26th Annual Awards Banquet. One of the top awards he received was Athlete of the Year!
