Junior Parent College Night: APPLICATION BASICS
Join the Counseling Department on Thursday April 10th at 5:30 online (Zoom links to be posted on Google Classroom and emailed to parents) for an important session on the College Admissions Process. Mr. Catlin will be on hand to outline the nuts and bolts of College Admissions and what students and parents need to do now to get ready to apply to college in the fall of senior year. Topics to be covered include: Transcripts, College Entrance Exams, Types of College and Applications, Naviance, Deadlines and How to choose a College, and more. Live Q&A will follow. Look for links to this online session on google classroom, email, and the school website.

I've Been Accepted! What's Next?
The Counseling Department will be hosting an important meeting for Seniors and their Parents on Thursday April 3 on what students need to do once they have been accepted to college. Mr. Jacob Quintana (College Recruiter and Counselor) will be on hand to guide students and parents on the steps students need to take to complete the admissions process.

Attention Parents of Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: The Counseling Department will be hosting a special College Planning Meeting on January 16 at 5:30 PM before the General Parent Meeting. Parents will be able to pick up score reports from the PSAT taken in October. In addition, Counselors will be on-hand to help parents read and understand the score reports as well as to discuss the next steps in college planning using the results. Topics to be discussed include: Understanding score reports, studying for college entrance exams, and using Naviance for searching for colleges and scholarships. Attention Parents of Sophomores and Juniors! The Counseling Department will be hosting a special presentation on “What Students and their Parents Need to Know About College” On Thursday November 7, 2024 at 5:30 PM (before the General Parent Meeting), Counselors will provide valuable information for Parents and Students about Cathedral High School’s Four Year College Counseling Program. Information will also be presented in Spanish. Transcripts and grade level College Checklists will be distributed to parents. Topics will include: Transcript Review, College Options, using Naviance in college and career counseling, Admissions Tests and Requirements, Funding options, an overview of the College Application season, and what 10th and 11th grade students need to do THIS year to get ready for the college application season in the Fall of his senior year.
