Palabras

Palabras is like a central spot in the English Department where students can find all sorts of writing contests and creative activities. We give students many chances to write and work together, both at our school and in wider competitions. Palabras helps students share their own stories and also tell the story of our school in different ways.

Every year, Palabras runs a "Spooky Story" contest and a Poetry Slam. We also have a film contest called Phantom Five, where students can team up to make a short, five-minute movie. The Cathedral Parents Club helps us by giving prize money for these school contests.

We also help students take part in writing contests in our community, our state, and even across the country. This includes a big national poetry contest called Poetry Out Loud.
