Run to Summer Reading! It will be a Riot!

 

2026 English Department Summer Reading

 

Freshmen in English I, Sophomores in English II, Juniors in English III, and Seniors in English IV in Fall 2026 must read Run, Riot by Nikesh Shukla. 

We have attached information about the novel in the 2026 Summer Reading Google Classroom. The code is qp7iy47k.

In fall English classes, these students will complete grade-level projects that connect to the stories. 

Freshmen in English I Honors in Fall 2026 must read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. These students will receive more information about more summer work to complete. 

Sophomores in English II Honors in Fall 2026 must read The Shakespeare Stealer by Gary Blackwood AND Run, Riot. These students have their own Google Classroom. 

Juniors in AP English Language and Composition in Fall 2026 must read They Say, I Say by Gerald Graff & Cathy Birkenstein and The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. These students have their own Google Classroom.

Seniors in AP English Literature and Composition in Fall 2026 must read The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and a novel from a curated list. These students have their own Google Classroom.
