Math Skills Summer 2025 (Rising 9th Graders)

Welcome to Cathedral High School!  The Summer Math Skills class is designed to help students develop good basic math skills prepare for Algebra I in the fall.  Below is some information for students and parents including contact information for teachers and resources for extra help.  Please reach out to your son's teacher if you need any assistance.

Expectations:

Students should know the following:

Addition / Subtraction Facts (0-9) i.e. 3+4=7, 7-4=3, 8+9 = 17, 17-8=9

Multiplication / Division Facts (0-9) i.e. 3x4=12, 12/3=4, 9x7=63, 63/7=9

Students will learn to:

Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide:

a. WHOLE numbers

b. INTEGERS (negative and positive numbers)

c. FRACTIONS (like denominators, mixed numbers, improper fractions)

d. DECIMALS

Students will be introduced to basic Algebraic concepts and practice.
