Volleyball players sign for College!

Signing day for two student athletes on May 11th. Both will continue to play and learn at their respective colleges. Gregory Esquivel signed with Cocker College in South Carolina. Matthew Romero signed with Graceland University in Iowa. Congratulations to both!

Cathedral Swim - Del Rey League Champions!

Congratulations to the Cathedral Swim Team for winning League this past Wednesday! This year they swept all three league meets and clinched the Del Rey League Championship! Eight swimmers are advancing to CIF competition!
Frank Castro, Kyle Deato, Christian Joaquin, Kyle Morgan, David Pinedo, Jorge Saavedra,Chris Silva, and Christian Villegas advance to CIF Prelims this Wednesday.

Outstanding Performance by Frosh/Soph Track Team

Congratulations to the Frosh/Soph team for their outstanding performances at the South Pasadena Frosh/Soph Showcase invitational on April 30, 2016. Anthony Perez broke (2) meets records: 3200m (10:04.80) and 1600m (4:48.01). Wolley Saga-Tuala broke the 800m record (2:10.21) and won the 400m (53.47). Cory Payne broke the 100m (11.39) and 200m (23.00) records. Colin Payne, Cory Payne, Ali Pringle and Dyllan Wright won the 4x100m relay and Tristan Marez, Cory Payne, Wolley Saga-Tuala and Dyllan Wright won and broke the 4x400m record (3:36.44). Cory Payne won male athlete of the meet.

Phantom Speed produced 4 Personal Best (PB) at MT. SAC Relays

The MT SAC Relays location is on a 1 year hiatus due to major improvements to the track and field facility. The year the meet was held at Cerritos College. Over 5,000 high school, collegiate, and professional athletes compete. Three of the Phantoms sprinters ran personal best (PB) in their events; Jesse Audelo 200m (21.91) Stefon Goudeau 400m (48.87) and Nicholas Agbede 200m (21.70). The 4X400m relay team broke the school record in a time of 3:15.50. (Jesse Audelo, Darron Whitaker, Cory Payne & Stefon Goudeau) The team took second place to Rancho Verdes High school of Moreno Valley. The 4X400m relay team is ranked #1 in CIF-SS Div 3 and ranked #2 in the state. Romare Ashford ran a lifetime personal best (PB) in the 800m (1:55.44).

The Phantom’s Shine bright at the 49th Arcadia Invitational

Stellar Friday night for the Phantom’s at the 49th Arcadia Invitational.  The Cathedral boy’s sprint crew won the invitational 4x200m relay in 1:27.66 (Team: Nicholas Agbede, Stefon Goudeau, Jesse Audelo and Darron Whitaker) and the 800m sprint medley relay in 1:32.43 (Team: Jesse Audelo, Andres Woodruff, Nicholas Agbede and Stefon Goudeau).   In both relays they are ranked #1 in the state of California!
